A First Contact Practitioner (FCP) is a specialist Physiotherapist with additional training who can see patients with musculoskeletal (MSK) problems as a first point of contact for quick access to expert advice. An FCP can assess and diagnose routine and complex MSK problems, providing guidance and support for self-management, tailored rehab plans, signposting to local services, or onward referrals and investigations as needed.

If you wish to see a GP when your surgery is closed, don’t forget you can use the Out of Hours service — NHS 111. Alternatively, you can book an appointment in advance or on the day by calling your normal GP receptionist and requesting an appointment at one of our hubs.
